Labor Day

Labor Day, the first Monday in September is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of the American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity and well being of our country.

For me the above paragraph also includes Entrepreneurs who have become successful on a large scale or a smaller scale in their own local city and community. Because without those hardworking Entrepreneurs that never give up on their dreams, that refuse to take no for an answer, that refuse to accept failure as an option and make sacrifices in the hopes that one day their hard work will pay off and they will be successful in their business.

For all those out there like me still following your dream, I hope you enjoyed your day off or I hope you continued following your passion because when you love what you do, it never seems like work!

Until next time!

Keep on Keeping on out there

How aggressive are you in your business?

Now days in your personal life, in your business or your career you have to be aggressive to reach the success you want out of life.

I've come to realize recently I need to be as aggressive in my business as I am in my personal life. But I am questioning just how aggressive should I be?? You know the old saying don't take no for answer! At the same time I don't want to be annoying or pushy when I market my gift basket business or suggest to someone "Hey buy a gift basket!" or "Hey here's my business card!"

So, I am going to step up my game this week again and this time not only simply make my goal of giving 10 people or more my business card but be more aggressive when I give that business card, and really market myself because that's the only way I am going to get those sales for the Holidays. If I notice even after being more aggressive I STILL am not getting sales, I need to ask for feedback as to what I am doing wrong and correct it! That's the only way any of us can achieve success in life is to learn from our mistakes and improve ourselves.

I wish everyone out there a successful and blessed new week ahead!

Until next time!

Keep on Keeping on!

My upcoming Birthday

On a personal level I associate my Birthday in August with the end of the lazy days of summer, back to school and the excitement of the upcoming holiday season!

As a gift basket entrepreneur I associate my Birthday in August with time to get in gear for the holiday season with looking over holiday inventory from last year and buying new inventory and designing flyers and brochures for advertising for the upcoming holiday season.

So, when my birthday is over I get into this work mode of getting in gear for the upcoming holiday season and hoping that the upcoming season will finally be the time for my business to shine BRIGHT as the stars at night! But it can only be a successful holiday season if I work my butt to get those sells.

My "vacation" will officially be over after my birthday weekend and it's on to get those sells rocking! What are your plans as a gift basket owner for the upcoming holiday season?

Until next time

Do you whisper or holler?

Sunday as we were leaving church services, the ladies were handing out the church newsletter for the upcoming week and I scanned and looked on the back to see which businesses were advertising and I was thinking of talking to the lady at the rectory office about putting an ad for my business on there when I saw a quote that said "He who has a thing to sell and goes and whispers in a well, is not so apt to get the dollars as he who climbs a tree and hollers" I thought to myself wow that is so true because I have a habit of not always promoting myself every time I go out in public but my fiance Henry is always quick to pass out my business cards before I am! I always tell him I wouldn't get half the business I do if he wasn't for him always passing out my business cards or leaving my business card in different places. I don't think his realizes yet he has officially taken the role of marketing and publist for my business Smile! But at this point since I am still not making consistent profits, I need to advertise myself every chance I get because I never know, the person I hand my business card to that day could be the one that kicks off the start of true success in my business.

So this week I am making a goal for myself to give atleast 10-20 strangers my business card. I know it doesn't sound like much but for a shy gal like myself that will be a big goal to accomplish LOL! I will let you all know next Monday how that goes for me!

Until then

Sleep and daily exercise are you getting enough?

You've heard the stories individuals who have a successful business seem to work 24 hours a day. I remember when watching Season 2 of Who wants to work for Diddy, I remember him saying he rarely sleeps. But is that healthy mentally and physically?

As a full time Gift Basket Entrepreneur, I am still wearing all the hats in my business. Which means I manage my main website, fiances, delivery, manage all my online social media sites, make every gift basket order that I receive, talk to customers etc and it can be pretty overwhelming especially if I get lucky and have lots of business for a period of time. When your an entrepreneur you make your own schedule, which means most of the time the traditional 8-5 doesn't apply.

So how do you balance it all? It can be difficult, because I found myself recently running on empty and its not healthy mentally or physically on your body.

The best thing to do is realize that a proper nights sleep will have you thinking and functioning better. Staying healthy with daily exercise and healthy eating is also good. It is easier said then done because I myself is still working on this balance especially the sleep part LOL! But the important thing is to recognize and work on the issue because if one doesn't even realize it, its only going to affect your body and your business.

Until Next time
